The naming game isn't going so well... Chad is one of those people who doesn't like to think of names on his own, just reject the names I pick. So it's a slow process. He has rejected every name on my list I think; so for now I'm back to square one (although I'm hoping I can wear him down with Tessa eventually). I noticed no one is sharing any girl names... I understand. They're hard to come by.

Beth, I can totally see you with a Dash. Although he'll have to suffer through The Incredibles jokes his whole life. My question is, where does the "wood" come from in Dashwood? Why not just Dash? Will that make him more distinguished when he's older? :)

Names are rough. I guess I'll hit the library for a book. I tell you, if my last name weren't Brown I'd just go with Scarlett.

Here's some girl's names from Ethan's music class this last week that all have the "y" sound on the end: Hailey, Bailey, Kennedy, Kelsey, Addy, & Rory

I'd tell you my girl names, but then I'd have to kill you. Where does the "wood" come from? Possibly an obsession with Jane Austen. Seriously, I'm not sure. I'll call Zak and ask him.

Okay, I called him and he sad (and I quote) "Because it sounded more Pride and Prejudicey" So there you have it. I'm married to a dork.

I'm with you there about Scarlett. That was my favorite name while May was incubating but hello - Ruby and Scarlett? I just couldn't go down that path. And to top it off, my second favorite was Violet. Sad story.

And you're right. I'm not sharing any of my fave names with you because they're mine...ALL mine. So here are some names that I don't like that you're welcome to use: Ramona, Denise, Sheryl, Linda, Brittany, Kayla, Donna, Giselle, Keisha, McKenzie, Nancy, LaTasha.

Or how about your personal favorite girl names: KARLA & MONA

Katie has a long history of just LOVING these two name :)

ooh! i was just about to write Karla and Mona! the only name chad has come up with is Kayloni (spelling?). i had to explain to him that 1) we're not polynesian and 2) i'm opposed to any name that has some form of the word "loni" in it.

annie, i LOVE violet too, but that stupid brown last name is really cramping my style here!

How about Rowan?

I too am a victim of not being able to use colors for first names, even Claire, because it sounded too much like Clear to me. What can you do?
