Chad said I had to post my weird thing, of which there is only one:

This is my blankie. The very one I sleep with that my Grandma made me when I was born. Sadly, there used to be two, but on our initial drive out to Maryland in May of 2002 it was discovered two hours out of Iowa that the other blankie had been left in a Motel 6 and my cruel, cruel husband wouldn't turn the car around to go get it. As you can see from its threadbare state, this blankie is about ready to retire. I've picked one of Rylee's reject ones to replace it and started breaking it in, but Chad, who barely tolerated the original, said that the new blanket in its virgin state is too fluffy and there's no room for it in our bed. He'll get used to it.

You look like a sneaky ghost. Very gauzy and a little smug. I like it.

It must run on our side of the family, I still have my blankie too, and Austin hates my equally as much. It's already been through "2 surgeries!"

ooooh I have so many good pictures of you with that blanket. If only I had a scanner. You're not giving me very much hope that we're going to break Ethan from his nasty blue cookie-monster like blanket attachment!

And yes Kelli, it must run in the family because Danielle is just the same. How come nobody made me a blanket :)

That's funny! ...And so sad that you left part of it Motel 6...

Are you going to be okay once the blankie is gone for good? Or will it be so quickly forgotten with its replacement? You are funny.

How on earth has it lasted? I you ought to see Evan's. His blanky, like him, is only four years old and it is on its deathbead. It's not like he takes it anywhere outside the house, either!

I have my blanket from my childhood, but it is in a box in the basement. I never even see it except when I move to another house, but I honestly can't part with it either. My mom was helping me go through my boxes a couple years ago. We came across the blanky and it put her in tears. I think she may be more sentimental about it than I am. Then again, I can relate to that. I've sure developed a soft spot for Evan's beloved blanky, too.

I am glad to see it has lasted this long, but at the same time it worries me for Ellie's sake who is so attached to her blankie, that the three replacements I bought to have as 'back-up' she wants NOTHING to do with.

I think you are very lucky to have a comfort object. I am still looking for one :)
