When my brain is fried I always revert to bullet statements:
  • I am a Beehive Advisor to 18 Beehives
  • Chad is on the Stake Youth Conference Committee
  • Rylee is now a CTR and informs us whenever anyone "chooses the left" instead of the "right"
  • Avery lives lives lives for her 2 hours in Nursery each week
  • Isabelle was quite underweight at her 6 month checkup and has been having a lot of food shoved down her face ever since. Thursday we'll find out if it did any good...
  • I don't sleep much thanks to Izzy and Aves. Any day now I think we'll hit a turning point...
  • We're really enjoying our babysitting in with the Beehives and go on lots of dates now
  • There's always some house we're on the brink of buying, but we never do
  • Avery has been pacifier-free for over a month now: and still naps!
  • Izzy crawls everywhere and loves to find people's dirty socks and eat them
  • Rylee and I have an unspoken agreement every afternoon that she's not in school where I turn on Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas and she falls asleep in the recliner--all the more astonishing because she hasn't napped regularly since around 18 months
  • I've discovered that I'm so much older than I like to think I am. Thank you Beehives, for that one. And I keep trying to make friends with couples who I think are my age, but are really like 21-year-old newlyweds. Oh yeah, and I think I have more kids than anyone in the ward under 40.

So true about thinking you are younger than you are! Ha, I totally related to that one. I was in Young Women's for a while, and teach the 13 and 14 year old sunday school... I kept thinking I wasn't that far removed from them. Apparently I am. The clincher was when I mentioned Kevin Costner once, and none of them knew who he was. I could not believe it!

Well, you look young enough to be a Beehive, so you have that going for you. Ok, so maybe like a Mia Maid.

Being in the YW does make you feel old. That was my last calling. I loved it. In fact I miss it a ton. My girls were amazing, not to mention the babysitting! Now I am actitivity days and haven't decided if they are too young yet to babysit???

I really enjoy your blog.
Are there a lot of good house options in Austin?
...sounds fun!

I need to try this bullet thing, less thinking. Love your post.

OH, by the way, you know you're getting old when college kids start looking young to you.

18 beehives?!?! we have A beehive, with none on the horizon. That must be fun! (you can take that anyway you want to...) I for one love your bullet posts...!

Ah, Katie...now you know how I felt when you and Chad moved in...and that was about 5 years ago! Now when new families move in, I have to calculate which sibbling's age they are nearest. Sadly, it's getting down to Cami and Tanner's age--the bottom of the ladder.
