1. School's out so I no longer have to drive any carpools.
Bad:
1. School's out.
2. School's out.
Good:
1. Sometimes my kids will play together for 20-30 minute segments.
Bad:
1. 4-5 hours of the day my kids see who they can make cry the most through both physical and emotional tactics.
2. Every other waking second is devoted to begging for junk food and snacks.
Good:
1. I had an amazing birthday: My mom flew in last minute that afternoon, my book club threw me a surprise party and some friends took me out the next night to celebrate as well.
Bad:
1. I turned 30.
2. I turned 30.
Good:
1. My mom helped me organize Avery and Izzy's closet and the toy room: a 2 day process that I never could have done on my own.
Bad:
1. My mom left.
2. The pile of computer cords and equipment that we took out of Avery's closet for Chad to go through later is still that: a pile. Sitting on the floor, unsorted. Three weeks later.
The Good:
1. We go to the pool a lot.
The Bad:
1. The pool = tangley, greenish gray hair on 3 little tow-heads.
2. It's HOT.
The Good:
1. Chad put on his annual fireworks extravaganza that attracted crowds from near and far and lasted a solid 3 hours.
The Bad:
1. One neighbor showed up a little tipsy at 10 pm and chewed me out in front of the said crowd for not inviting them.
2. Another neighbor knocked on our door the next day to ask if the next time we do fireworks we let him know so he can move his cars out of the driveway because they got trashed from the debris.

First of all, I love that you did only one good and two bad---my kind of girl.
And second of all....I didn't get invited to the fireworks show either and I'm not happy about it.
Really?!? Were you supposed to send out official invitations? The standing rule should be-if you can hear/see them, you are invited.
I still love you.
ha - great post. wish we could actually do fireworks here. and i hear ya on the kids fighting and begging for treats for about 7 hours out of every day. i honestly feel that i suffer abuse as a mother daily and deserve the right to lock myself in my room for an hour or two...
where are the pictures of the fireworks?? and other 4th of july festivities? THAT is what i want to see.
Thanks for helping me see a benefit to having red hair. No greenish grey hues from too much swimming here. Although there is no swimming for me for a bit longer!
My favorite commercial is still the one of the dad in office depot or staples pushing the cart down the school supplies aisle to the tune of "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year". We teachers will lovingly feel the opposite.
I love your blog title and I love your girls' pics. SO CUTE! I totally relate to your summer troubles. I have to keep my kids from eating junk food too, but I also am constantly trying to keep Evan away from a screen of some sort. He is always gravitating from the computer to TV and once he gets booted from those he finds the leapster!!!
Happy birthday! I'm glad it was so awesome!
Love this post. And I love that Chad puts on his own fireworks show!!! That is the coolest. Wish we lived near you so we could see it too!
Ummm...well, the decision was made during Sunday School (because we don't like our ward) and we left early the next morning, so not a whole lot of time to warn people. And we were only there for three days. All three of which were spent looking for a car. Believe me, I would have much rather been spending it with you.
