6 unique things about me, Annie? That's rough! How about 6 weird and embarrassing things...
1. I got engaged in fourth grade (On Valentine's Day no less! How romantic!)
2. In fifth grade I wrote a novel called Abbey and the Secret of the Egyptian Forest (it looks as though elementary school was my golden age...)
3. Audra (oh yes, I'm implicating you in this as well) and I showed up for our first stake dance when we turned 14 at 8:00 pm on the nose. The DJ hadn't set up yet and all the lights were still on. It was a humiliating experience we endured in the bathroom until our friends arrived an hour and a half later.
4. I am a mess in emergency situations, Part 1: When I was 19, my sister, Tricia, and I had some blood tests taken. Tricia passed out during her test and started shaking as if she were having a seizure. I stood there blubbering and crying hysterically as my mom and a nurse tried to wake her up. My mom had to finally tell me to go sit in a corner because I was so useless and causing a scene.
5. Part 2: When Avery was born (which Chad missed, by the way), I had to stay in the hospital for a week while she was in the NICU. One night, the hospital staff forgot to bring me a dinner tray. After inquiring I learned they had no more dinner trays and I was on my own. For some reason this just devastated me and I called Chad sobbing. He told me to go to the cafeteria to get something to eat and I wailed that I didn't have any money. He told me to go to an ATM. For some reason this had never occurred to me. As I got up to leave, a nurse knocked at my door--she had seen how crushed I was over not getting a dinner tray and had brought me a sandwich.
6. When I'm in the first trimester of a pregnancy cleaning is really, really hard for me (especially since cleaning is hard for me when I'm not pregnant). In December I went out of town for a few days and came home to discover that Avery had dumped an entire box of Wheat Thins on the floor in our computer room. I felt Chad should clean them up because he had left the box out for her to find and he felt that I should clean them up for whatever reason (maybe because I had left him with the kids for a few days?). As a result, I let those Wheat Thins continue to get ground into the carpet for a week and a half before Chad and I finally compromised and cleaned them up together. It's not a moment I'm proud of.

My favorite was the stake dance anecdote. I think you should blog the short story you started about it. Oh come on, just do it!

Yeah, thanks a lot for bringing up that stellar moment in our history together Kate! I remember one of the most embarrassing parts of that night is that we beat some of the adult leaders there and they laughed at us! I also remember that I put on so much foundation that I must of looked plastic and that I wore navy blue fake suede dress shoes from mervyns that for some really odd reason I thought were cute and "unique"--WHY didn't our mothers help us???

our mothers didn't help us because they were busy taking our picture before we left, remember? and we probably wouldn't have listened anyway, we were so anxious to go...

katie...pretty funny stories. this is greg gillespie commenting...yes, greg all the way back from freshman year with chad at byu (and of course the council). i found your blog from jeremy and selena, who recently moved back to oregon and we keep in touch. anyway, hope dentistry is going well for chad, but the real reason i'm commenting is that he needs to submit his picks (and of course you are invited too) for the annual march madness tourney. i have also set up a blog with some new rules to make it even more interesting. it's councilmadness.blogspot.com check it out and hurry and sign up.
