It's cleanup time. My family was allowed back to their home this afternoon to clean up the mess. The worst part is the smell. I think they live with constant headaches. I tried to find plane tickets for my sister to come out to Austin because all the schools are cancelled, but they were too pricey.
Here are some pictures my family emailed me as they drove the neighborhoods near them surveying the damage. Not the best pictures, but you get the general idea...
Jamie and Jake cleaning up my parents' driveway (way to help, Jame!)
My parents' pool. (No, it is not a black-bottom. Note the "Hi" Jacob wrote...)
My mom said it was horrible how everyone (they included) were driving around surveying the neighborhood damages. There's not really anything you can say about the next few...

Wow. That is just so sad. What a major mess to sift through for your family too.
soo sad!
Oh Katie that is so sad. Were they able to salvage anything of personal value. I hope so. Those pictures just make me want to cry. I don't know what I would do if that happened to us.
Okay maybe I should do a better job at reading instead of just looking at the pictures. I thought that those burnt houses were your parents home. Still just as sad, but that is great to hear that theirs was okay.
Wow! This is so sad! I'm so glad that your parents house was saved. What an awful thing to have to go through!
Katie! I am glad to hear that your family's stuff is still standing...how scary, I am glad that everything is still standing.
How is your family holding up now?
