It's like we're on vacation! The weather has been so warm that I feel like I'm finally getting the summer I missed with the whole "having a baby" thing. This will be repeat if you read the Jensen's blog, but we had so much fun that I had to blog about it too... Today we went with the Jensens to Lake Travis and rented a ski boat--and it was my idea! I only say this because when thought of it when I was in the shower yesterday and then told Chad about it, he was impressed that I had actually come up with a fun idea. I tried not to be offended. It's not that I don't like to do fun things--I do. It's just so hard with all the kids in tow that a lot of times, for me anyway, it's just easier to stay home and do nothing. Therefore I am no longer considered "fun." My kids feel the same way about me. They always ask Chad for things they want first because they know I'll say no and they love to play with him when he comes home. Whenever I do or say something funny, the result is often a look of amazement on their faces. Did mom really just do that? But I can be fun too! And I baked Halloween sugar cookies tonight to prove it. Okay, enough digression, back to today. The weather was gorgeous, the water temperature 75, and the boat was fast. What more could you ask for?Poor Izzy had to wear this giant life jacket that kept her stiff as a board. She was a good sport about the whole thing and didn't cry once. She thought it tasted good.She got a big kick out of the wind blowing through her hair.This is pretty much what her face looked like the whole time due to the wind. I can't believe she didn't fuss about it! A few times she actually laughed!The older girls had a blast. They fed those gross, barnacle sucking fish at the dock, yelled for the boat to go faster, and then went swimming. Avery only almost fell out of the boat once.

I just know Rylee's going to get one of those brain-eating ameba my sister Jamie warned me about when she heard we were going to a lake...
