Question:
If both this

are in my entryway, and you can see the family room from there, are these curtains too much of the same to then put in the family room? Or is it just carrying a damask theme on so it's okay?

Or are something like these stripes

or these, better?

Your thoughts?

I keep going back and forth. I have deleted my answer like 4 times. Thank goodness you don't have your word verification enabled or I'd be up a crick.
I think I like the bottom ones the best. My only worry is that they might come off looking a little young compared to the rest of your decor. In which case, I'd go with plan B, which is the damask but those border on too-old looking. I don't know. I'm just not a stripe person.
You are now two cents richer.
At first I was thinking the bottom ones as well, but have determined that they aren't the right "style"-I like the top ones and think they carry the same theme throughout. Good for you for thinking curtains, by the way. We've been here for two years and I still haven't found curtains for our front room.
Did you Hobby Lobby it for the metal thing?
I actually love the damask ones. My fave. I like it when you can see a theme throughout a home in decor. And I don't think they look too old at all, as long as you accessorize with some hip patterned pillows and other decor. Kind of like in the picture... I love a little classic mixed with more modern. Looking good Katie!
My vote is the damask, I don't think it's too much.
beth, the scrolly thing is a wood carving from target. (my b-day present from my mom :)). i picked up a thing or two from hobby lobby but returned most of it. i do have a love for that store now.
thanks for everyone's help!
I really like them all, especially the blue and brown, my favorite combination! I was just at RH last week looking at drapes and they do seem to be great quality but I don't know if they're worth the price... I really want the filigree sheers but they're going to have to go on sale or something, $100/each is a heck of a lot for drapes. Target has some much cheaper, washable faux silk drapes in longer lengths online, but nothing as cute as the ones you posted. I also like the idea of carrying a theme through a house, I think it adds continuity and then you can mix it up a little here and there for interest. After all that, my vote is the damask, and your home is gorgeous!
these are all on sale except the chocolate banded one. if i went that route, i'd get the faux silk from target and have them sewn together because target doesn't carry the length i need (108", unfortunately). i saw some damask sheers on jcpenny's website when i did a search for damask drapes that looked a lot like the RH ones in the store. maybe i'll go that route...
Oooohhhh!!!! I really like the third one! You have such fun decor! The girls are so cute, too! How are you guys? We are kinda close by each other now (at least the same middle part of the u.s. Ü)

The damask ones are my favorite too, with the stripes coming in 2nd place (i love stripes). Maybe I'm old fashioned but I don't think the damask is "old" at all. Get some cute brown and blue polka dot pillows, and you've got a great room going!
I like the last curtains the best. Happy bday Izzy! Your posts are always so funny and you know how to bring out the truthfulness of being a mom.
I'm in love with the last option. My least fave are the top ones.
