Apparently, watching television on tape delay, a la DVR can be dangerous. Wednesday night we watched American Idol on delay, and therefore thought we were just enjoying a killer thunderstorm outside. But then the hail started and we found out there was a tornado warning. It turns out that while Chad had his bike helmet on and was collecting large chunks of hail, our neighbors were all hunkered down in their bathrooms waiting for the tornado to pass by. I'm just glad none of our windows broke and that the girls slept through it all...
Some of the hail was in the shape of a flower.

Chad braving the hail.
My idiot husband with his bike helmet.

Our flower bed.

A frog waiting out the storm on our walkway. We watched him score big time with a water-logged cricket.

That is beyond hilarious. Texas hail storms are so crazy! I didn't even know golf ball hail existed until I lived there. Chad in the bike helmet - so priceless.

The question is, did any large hail hit Chad, and did the helmet sufficiently protect him?

Ok honestly, the idea of Chad running around in a bike helmet collecting hail is the funniest thing I've heard in a LONG time. What a crazy storm though. Makes California's earthquakes seem pretty trivial!

Yet somehow it is comforting to see Chad still wearing shorts as he braves the storm.

This comment is directed toward the photo of Chad with his bike helmet. First of all- John, Joe and I know that Chad does not bike. He went once with us and never came again in Baltimore. Second, he probably just hit his head and needs the helmet now.
